Longing is an audiovisual project that connects puppetry, video, animation and sound recordings combined with musical or rhythmical parts. These components accompany each other and narrate the story of a person (a puppet made of lamp-worked glass beads). They live in a forest in a house (scenery made of borosilicate class). The video follows the person through dealing with an unfulfilled need for quiet.
The storyline starts at the house. Our main character is trying their best to manage their home and take care of themselves while internally suffering from the noise of household appliances. Therefore they start looking for a peaceful place to go. They leave their house and walk through the forest. Though they expect this place to be calm, some noises keep interrupting it. The loud sounds of a chainsaw, an airplane, a train, a road, barking dogs and many others make them freak out and go crazy. At this point, the 2D animation starts to appear. It illustrates their inner state and describes their emotions and their transformations.
