Children’s footwear design with a focus on foot growth and biomechanics.

This thesis focuses on a collection of children’s footwear with an emphasis on the growth of
children’s feet and biomechanics. Healthy foot development in early childhood is crucial for
proper posture and good movement habits in adulthood. The designed footwear provides the
necessary support while allowing for natural movement and growth without the risk of
deformities. The footwear collection takes into account the various stages of a child’s
development and their specific needs when putting on shoes. The result of this thesis is three
pairs of children’s shoes designed for preschool-aged girls.
