The project was developed in collaboration with LD Seating, a company specializing in the production of high-quality office and lounge seating. The brief was to design an exhibition presenting the new Terra Lounge collection and to create a space that not only showcases the product itself but also highlights the brand’s core values – craftsmanship, sustainable production, and the earthy character of the new collection.
The resulting installation employs a simple yet distinctive spatial concept based on the contrast between natural materials and precisely crafted elements. Soft soil becomes the dominant feature, introducing a strong tactile dimension to the space while referencing the origin of materials, the production process, and the very name of the Terra collection. This raw character is guided by glass panels, which create both a symbolic and visual bridge between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary precision design. The installation further incorporates the motive of the circle and other symbolic elements that refer to natural cycles, sustainability, and harmony.
The rear wall is articulated through vertical divisions that reflect the characteristic form of the armchair. Its surface texture, inspired by kaolin, remains subtle and understated, allowing the key elements of the installation to stand out without leaving the space visually empty. Living plants form a natural part of the composition, reinforcing the organic and earthy atmosphere of the exhibition.
The installation presents the armchair through an almost scenographic approach, elevating it from an everyday product to the central object of the space. Within the public environment, the installation functions as a visually engaging element while communicating the values of the collection on multiple levels – from its most immediate and accessible gestures to more nuanced interpretations revealed through its details.
Throughout the design process, I focused on spatial composition, material contrasts, and the symbolic dimension of individual elements. The project enabled me to further develop my experience in spatial design, visual communication, project organization, problem-solving, and collaboration with a real-world client.
