Architecture Manual – Potential for the City of Luhačovice and Barriers in its Creation

The diploma thesis entitled “Architecture Manual – potential for the city of Luhačovice and barriers in its creation” deals with the possibility of creating an architectural manual for the town of Luhačovice. The aim of the thesis is to determine the potential of the city for the creation of a separate manual and to identify specific barriers and challenges that may arise in the process of its creation. In the theoretical part of the thesis the topic of architecture and the importance of architectural manuals is introduced. The practical part focuses on existing architectural manuals and includes in-depth interviews with manual creators from different cities. It looks at the beginnings of the creation, the initial ideas and the obstacles they had to face. The project part lays the foundations for the creation of the Luhačovice Architectural Manual and includes the design of communication strategy. The work aims to contribute to a general awareness of the importance of architectural manuals in the protection and development of the urban environment and to highlight their role in maintaining the identity and character of cities.
