Intelligent route planner – ŠKODA

An electric car works great for regular commuting or any other type of regular driving that isn’t too long. When planning trips with the family or vacations, however, it’s still a problem. You always need to plan your trip in advance, find out about chargers and avoid any potential problems.

The intelligent route planner displays routes according to trustworthiness, the number of people who have taken the route, how they spend their time at stations (what you can do while waiting there). Users can add their own routes with names. The navigation also offers info about the expected battery status on individual route sections, stations and of course classic navigation data.

On the way home from work, the driver gets a phone call from a family member asking for urgent help. Such cases cannot be planned for. No algorithm can predict them. However, with an electric car, it is still necessary to anticipate and calculate, especially because of the range. This case is therefore somehow out of control.

Solution to this problem is based on a quick highlight map – green, where the electric car will go without problems there and back, orange – already symbolizes the risk, the likelihood of charging. So the driver can find the location where to go and make a very quick decision whether to go or not.
