This design was created for LD Seating and its new Terra Lounge armchair collection.
The aim of the project was to take inspiration from the name and concept of the new collection, as well as from the company itself.
The two main ideas behind the collection are comfort and sustainability, and I wanted to include both of them in my design.
Comfort is shown through the materials used and through the stone element on which the armchairs are displayed.
I chose to represent sustainability in a more symbolic way. The armchairs are placed on an inclined platform made of Cetris boards that is meant to resemble a rocky surface. Even though the surface is uneven, the armchairs remain stable.
The colours used in the design are inspired by the name Terra and are based on earthy tones.
The design also follows a vertical rhythm, which I created using strings placed at the back of the display. I wanted the overall design to be simple and clean, and the LED lighting helps to support this effect.
