“Explore, Understand, and Protect” is the theme of the International Year of Caves and Karst.
My idea was to create a user-friendly and informative mobile application with as many features as possible. It aims to provide verified information about caves and karst, teach users the terminology and rules for visiting caves, help them plan their visits, and understand how to contribute to conservation efforts.
In the application, users can download maps to use during their cave visits, as there are landmarks in the form of objects to guide them. The dark theme was chosen to cater to environments like caves where there might not be sufficient natural light.
I wanted to simulate the effect of lighting using a flashlight through the color and animation of the logo. The logo consists of an entrance sign to a cave and another shape representing relief, indicative of karst formations.
