The Face Recognition History project is my design solution for the identity topic we had during the winter semester. Within it, I decided to deal with digital identity, which took me down a winding path to face recognition as one of the most important identifiers of human identity. First in the sense of experimenting with available tools such as PimEyes, How Normal I am, later gaining theoretical knowledge about it.

I decided to process this knowledge and understanding in the form of an interactive web application that allows the user to explore the historical development of facial recognition, which started in the 1970s, on their own face by using the front-facing camera on their device. The different stages of development change the appearance of the image to resemble the technology of the time. Each one is also accompanied by a short tutorial from medium.com that explains the technology.
