Cave and karst enthusiasts, biologists, hydrologists, geologists, and educators worldwide have selected 2021 as the International Year of Caves and Karst. In my longread “It’s all about karsts”, I tried to give clear and accurate information about the karsts and how we can save them, and why we need to do it. The main task was to create a website so that the information on it does not overload the user, but makes him think about the environmental problem. Therefore, a minimalistic design was chosen in combination with simple interactive elements and animations. The dark theme was selected by the color of the rock, and also because the cave is a place where not much sunlight falls. The modest color palette is complemented by green – the color of life and a symbol of nature and ecology. It was decided to improve the laconic typography with visual accents. Thus, relief silhouettes created in lines and circles resembling fireflies appeared on the web.
