Digital infokiosk

Active leisure, socialization and an overview of what is happening around you are aspects that in many cases significantly improve a person’s mental balance. Taking care of your health (not only physical but also mental) is important at any age. With my project, I want to target the elderly and help them to be constantly informed about the environment in which they find themselves, support them in maintaining social contacts, involve them in the surrounding events, bring them closer to culture and offer opportunities to spend a good afternoon or weekend. The means to achieve the required is a city digital info kiosk, ie an interactive whiteboard that provides services and information (especially but not only) for seniors. It offers intuitive and clear control, is attractive for residents and at the same time fits non-violently into the whole concept of the city. The basic categories of services and information include: events of a cultural, sporting, artistic or social nature; city map with indication of public toilets, sources of drinking water or tourist attractions; urban and interurban transport timetables; opening hours of shops and services, including doctors’ office hours; important contacts with, inter alia, health services or the police; date and weather, etc. The kiosk interface itself is then designed especially for the elderly or disabled.
