The Dorm project responds to the trend of shrinking living spaces. Traditional horizontal dish drainers occupy a significant portion of the countertop, which is impractical in small apartments. Dorm flips this principle into a vertical orientation, utilizing the wall as an active storage area.

Versatility & Perforation: The core of the solution is a modular dish drainer system featuring a perforated wall for the versatile hanging of plates, mugs, and cutlery containers using hooks. This modularity ensures that the drainer meets the individual needs of the user, with the design focusing heavily on adaptability to the user’s needs.

Maximizing Counter Space: Thanks to its narrow base and vertical orientation, Dorm occupies minimal counter space. The overall design focuses on space-saving. It is designed to be placed in close proximity to the sink, ensuring the efficient organization of wet dishes without creating visual clutter in the interior.

Visual Clarity & Form: The design emphasizes minimalist aesthetics and geometric precision. Individual components are crafted to ensure the visual unification of the entire set. The objective of the study was to create a functional object that, through its simplicity, contributes to the cultivation of the kitchen environment.
